Vision Express User Tips

I've been using Vision Express for about 5 years now. It really is a pretty neat, easy to use platform and I've not needed to change to a more complicated platform. However, the User Manual lacks easy instructions to get started so I've listed some tips here.

Loading Snapshot Futures Quotes

The first thing to set up is the quotes screen with the markets you are interested in following. Once set up on the Real Software, this list is saved for future use, so every time you log-in, you can simply go to the Quotes window and click refresh, and all the current prices for the markets you are interested in are listed. You can also enter orders from this Quotes screen with a simple right click of your mouse, but more on this feature in a second!

OK, to set up Snapshot Quotes, click the fifth icon along that looks like a spanner. This is the Preferences icon.

A window similar to this will open:

You might need to click on a tab, then click on the Snapshot Quotes tab to show it. The list may have markets listed on the demo if previous users have logged in and experimented with the demo. On your Real Account, the main window will be blank because you have yet to choose the markets you are interested in following.

To do this, simply find the market in the CC drop down on the right hand side of the window. Then choose a Month, and a Year, and click Add. This will add the commodity to the left hand window. If you make a mistake, highlight the market ticker you want to get rid of in the left window and click Delete.

When you have finished choosing the markets, click the Save Preferences button and you're done!

(For options markets, you will need to select Strike Prices, Put or Call (P or C) etc.)

Now click the Quotes icon on the main toolbar, the third one along that looks like a Q.

This will bring up the Quotes screen, although it will be blank as you need to click the Refresh button at the bottom of the window. All the quotes you chose under Preference should now load in the main window.

Placing An Order

You can place an order from the Quotes screen by simply right clicking on the market you want, then clicking Buy or Sell. Try it out - a confirmation order box will pop up before the order is placed, so you can try it and cancel, or make changes if you wish.

Alternatively, you can enter an order by clicking on the toolbar. Click the second icon with the Pencil image. This will open a pop up window and you can scroll down the list of markets to find the one you want.

Good Til Cancel

To keep an order in place until further notice, ie from one trading session to the next, type CANCEL in the end box of the entry screen(s). Otherwise the order will expire at the end of the current trading session, unless it is filled.

Checking Your Orders

Check your orders are listed by clicking the first icon on the toolbar that looks like a Book.

That is pretty much all you need to get started with Vision Express. The other icons are really self explanatory, such as a charting icon, a new icon, etc. You can find info on these in the official Vision Express User Manual.

I hope you enjoy using the software. Please contact us if you have any questions.
